It’s a very fortuitous Friday day indeed, because I got my laptop and files back! Ohhh, my files, you are so beautiful. Never leave me again!
Right now I’m making backups of my backups of my backups (and re-downloading… everything, because my laptop got wiped), but after that, I am going to furiously pound my keyboard until I finish Part Nine. I can’t wait for you all to read it. Must… type… faster!
Delay
On Monday, my laptop decided not to turn on anymore. Oh, and my external hard drive failed a few minutes later, which seems… statistically unfair. So this has been my week so far:
I’m hoping I’ll get my laptop and files back tomorrow, especially as that’s where my only copy of the in-progress Part Nine + perfected outline is. Regardless, it’s time to look into cloud storage. 
Yeah, it was a really, really bad week. All I want is to get this final part out to you with no more tears on my end. Fingers crossed…
Edit (11/10): Still no laptop. The repair guy has had it for over a week now, so… … …
